Beginning as a quick conversation between two astronuats amidst docking procedures in the game HELLION, this project snowballed off the resounding success of a one day prototype.
Thrust into the driver/drone pilot/gunners seat of a Durendal, the player must carefully and surgically destroy or avoid the nests of a self-replicating robot army.
To aid the player in this calculated destruction, at any point the player can assume manual control of the quadracopter drone that provides the eyes and ears to the hulking machine. Once he or she has identified a target, the tank is capable of reconfiguring itself into “siege” mode, and can subsequently rain down hell from the sky.
The game is currently in a state of hibernation, but one day it may rise from its slumbler.
TANK ITERATION
The Durendal was built as a collaboration between the Kusanagi Heavy Industries Corporation and the European Megacorp Voystok Maegar. This explains some of it’s kitchen sink style design, as well as it’s proven combat effectiveness.
